Ocean City – Things to do with your Team
Ocean City is a lively resort town in the state of Maryland. As its name would suggest, Ocean City is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Isle of Wight Bay. It features miles of beautiful sandy beaches and an iconic wooden boardwalk lined with restaurants, food vendors, gift shops, arcades, and more. The surrounding waters are teeming with everything from kayaks to tour boats, many of which journey to nearby Assateague Island.
Ocean City is one of the most popular beach destinations on the East Coast. Your team will undoubtedly love this trip and all of the fun things to do in the area. Here are some of our favorites.
Old Pro Golf
Founded in 1965 by Herbert J. and Aileen “Deany” Schoellkopf, Old Pro Golf is a family-owned and operated business whose miniature golf courses guarantee to be a hole-in-one for kid-friendly fun. Imaginative themes, mechanized obstacles, innovative hole design, and beautiful water and landscaping features are standard when it comes to the many exciting miniature golf courses designed by Old Pro Golf.
The first Old Pro Golf course built in Ocean City was constructed on the pier in 1963. Almost 30 years later in 1990, Herbert purchased the 68th Street property that is now home to Old Pro Golf’s Prehistoric Dinosaur outdoor course. Three years after that Herbert finally got to realize his idea of an indoor miniature golf course with the opening of the Undersea Adventure course. By the summer of 2010, 136th street in Ocean City became home to the outdoor Caribbean Pirates outdoor course and the Rainforest Adventure indoor course. Ocean City, MD
Ocean City Boardwalk
While you are at the beach you should also consider spending some time on the boardwalk. Travel Channel called the Ocean City Boardwalk the best wooden boardwalk in America. USA Today named it one of the nation’s best boardwalks for food. This is especially true if you like succulent crab cakes and other delicious seafood.
With all the food options along with shopping, arcades, and amusement rides, the Ocean City Boardwalk offers three miles of highly-concentrated fun.
Located on the Boardwalk’s southern end, Trimper’s Rides has been an Ocean City institution for decades. Trimper’s Rides is one of the best amusement piers on the boardwalk, featuring plenty of rides and arcade games to keep the family busy for hours. 698 N Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, MD 21842
Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague State Park
Whether you visit by boat charter or drive in on Route 611, a visit to Assateague Island National Seashore is a must for any trip to the Ocean City area.
Famous for the majestic wild horses that roam the island, Assateague offers quite a different beach experience in comparison to the highly-developed Ocean City. With mile after mile of undeveloped protected beach and dunes, Assateague stretches all the way to the Virginia border.
Assateague State Park is the only oceanfront park in all of Maryland. Its two miles of beaches are the perfect place to enjoy swimming, beachcombing, sunbathing, surfing, fishing, and more.
The state park’s bay side offers adventurous visitors the chance to explore secluded coves by canoe or kayak. The marsh areas in Assateague are home to a wide variety of wildlife like deer, waterfowl, and wild horses. Assateague State Park is one of Maryland’s most popular parks and serves a very high volume of visitors during summer weekends and holidays. 7206 National Seashore Ln, Berlin, MD 21811; 6915 Stephen Decatur Hwy, Berlin, MD 21811
