Smiley’s Golf Complex in nearby Lenexa offers two exciting 18-hole mini golf courses. Smiley’s has a reputation for having some of the most challenging mini golf courses around. No need to fret over that though, your team will just have to step up to the task. They’ll still have plenty of fun. Who doesn’t like a little challenge? What makes Smiley’s courses so formidable is that they have been modeled after some of the world’s most famous golf courses around the world. Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead
Right in Overland Park, Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead resembles a turn-of-the-century farm. Open since 1978, and renamed in 1985 to honor the first area police officer to be killed in the line of duty, this family fun center has almost 200 animals on show. Their mission is to engage visitors in the ways and wonders of early-1900s Kansas.
Exhibiting birds of prey and butterfly gardens, they’ve got a nature trail to connect attractions. Included in the family fun are playgrounds, Grandpa Bob’s fishing pond, horse-drawn wagon and pony rides, fishing pond, blacksmith shop, and a full-size country schoolhouse replica. Turn the kids loose on pedal tractors. Mine gemstones, bottle-feed pygmy goats, or watch cows being milked. Stop into the Cinemoo Moovie Theater to be educated on dairy history. Worlds of Fun & Oceans of Fun
For more than 40 years, Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun in Kansas City have attracted residents and tourists alike who are looking for fun and high-octane thrills. Worlds of Fun features an impressive selection of roller coasters, including the rotating-car Spinning Dragons and the Boomerang, a 12-story coaster with plenty of loops and corkscrews to keep you on the edge of your seat. Other thrill rides include the Detonator, which blasts you 200 feet into the air at 45 miles per hour, and the Fury of the Nile, a high-speed rapids ride for six. Union Station
Union Station in Kansas City is one of the country’s most beautiful historic landmarks, and its recent renovation has made it a true modern wonder with breathtaking 95-foot ceilings and 3,500-pound chandeliers. In addition to gawking at the cool architecture, you can have some fun while you’re at Union Station. It’s only a short drive from Overland Park. Visit the KC Rail Experience, where you get to climb aboard a locomotive and hop in a simulator to see how the rails look from the engineer’s perspective. ZIP KC

Instead of spending all of your trip to Overland Park inside, take a trip to Swope Park and enjoy some of fresh air. Consisting of over 1,800 acres, Swope Park is Kansas City’s urban parks. Museum at Prairiefire
The Museum at Prairiefire (MAP) is like no other attraction in Overland Park. Opening its doors in 2014, MAP benefits from a partnership with the world famous American Museum of Natural History. This is the first time the American Museum of Natural History has worked with a museum of such as this. Don’t pass up the chance to experience the high caliber exhibits at the MAP.

Shawnee Mission Park
Just north of Overland Park in Shawnee is Shawnee Mission Park. It’s the largest and most visited in the area with 1,250 acres of urban refuge with a 150 acre lake, marshes, forests, and meadows. Be sure to check out the Mill Creek Streamway Trail, a meandering 11-mile asphalt pathway that runs along the stream and through an oak-hickory forest. You might very well come across some forest critters as you walk around the park.
