Founded in 1998, this convention/ competition takes pride in their hardworking staff that appear on rated shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Ellen, America’s Got Talent, and So You Think You Can Dance. Let’s not forget their stellar performances with A-list stars like, Justin Beiber, JLo, Nick Jonas, Backstreet Boys, Madonna, and Michael Jackson.

However, despite the faculties lengthy and impressive schedules, they never forget how to inspire and educate all dancers to be their best possible selves. In addition to a highly qualified staff, Hollywood Vibe gives back to teachers through special rewards, and offers scholarships and cash prizes to students. Hollywood Vibe shows their love for teachers

There is no doubt that conventions and competitions are great tools for gaining experience and growing confidence and skill. However, without the time and energy put in by teachers and studio directors, opportunities like these would not be possible. So, in an effort to show appreciation for their hard work, Hollywood Vibe offers teacher rewards in the form of discounts and specialty classes.

Teacher Discounts

Teachers are eligible for discounts based on the number of students they bring to the conventions, for example bringing 6 to 9 paying students results in 50% off the convention admission price. Teachers who bring over 10 paying students get a free teachers’ pass to the workshop. Bringing 20 students results in 2 free teachers’ passes to the workshop. If 30 paying students register, teachers receive 3 workshop passes, plus one night stay at a host hotel. Plus, if a teacher attends any of the conventions at full price or brings 10 or more paying students, they may attend another workshop in the same season for 50% off (excluding Nationals). Let’s give it up for those discounts!

Special Teacher Sessions

These sessions are done in a conversational format, designed for teachers to reflect on their own classroom formats, choreography, and business as a whole. Teachers should leave these sessions feeling inspired and ready to take what they learned back to their studios. Topics for discussion include Tips and Tricks for Better Technique, Music Editing, Choreography Tools, and Building Skills & Breaking Habits. Hollywood Vibe Regional scholarships and awards

Don’t worry students – just because Hollywood Vibe gives some extra love to teachers, doesn’t mean they forgot about you! At every regional event, the top performers receive scholarships and awards like discounts for conventions, cash prizes, and free dance classes to one of the top studios on the West Coast! The Grand Prize for the Senior/ Teacher Assistant level is a scholarship to Millennium Dance Complex in LA, in addition to a Hollywood Vibe scholarship. The Grand Prize for Mini, Junior, Intermediate, and Teen divisions is a cash prize and a Hollywood Vibe scholarship.

With the Team Hollywood Vibe Scholarship, winners get the chance to join the Hollywood Vibe team and can attend any Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention for free! But wait, there’s more. This scholarship can also be applied towards workshop fees at National Finals, and it also gives students the chance to compete for National Dancer of the Year at Nationals.  Please be aware that no matter how great this scholarship is, it must be used within the year from the date it was given.

Bang for your buck at Nationals

Prepare for a 5 day affair of non-stop dancing and instruction during Nationals in Orange County, CA! The trip begins with 3 days of classes, taught by professional dancers. It continues with competitions for National Finals and Dancer of the Year Title, Battle of the Stars Competition, a Closing Night Gala featuring Dancer of the Year Finalists, college panels, and Vibe Company auditions.

For the Dancer of the Year competition, contestants perform solo routines and only 2 of them (from certain age groups) are chosen to dance off for the title. Winners come from the Mini, Junior, Intermediate, Teen and Senior age divisions. They’re chosen based on their performance during workshops, as well as the competition. Finalists also perform in The Closing Night Gala, and the choreography for the group dance is sent 2 weeks prior to Nationals. Contestants must attend all rehearsals. To compete for the title of National Dancer of the Year, dancers must receive the Team Hollywood Vibe Scholarship at a regional event.

Following the title competition is Battle of the Stars. In this event, the top 2-3 scoring groups from each age division are selected for a dance off. Winners get advertising on the Hollywood Vibe webpage, in addition to cash and other prizes.

On the night of the 5th day, everyone comes together for The Closing Night Gala. This is a magical evening, set to a Hollywood glam theme. It is a perfect way to end Nationals and features a dance number from the faculty, Dancer of the Year Finalists, and special guests! This is also the night where Hollywood Vibe announces Dancer of the Year and Battle of the Stars winners. Tickets are necessary to attend this event, and make sure to purchase them sooner than later because they sell out quickly.

Hollywood Vibe’s exclusive L.A. Agency Award

This award package is a special prize presented at the Closing Night Gala during Nationals. Only people who were asked to audition for it can compete. Before the auditions begin, competitors learn a combination in a jazz funk style, which they will perform in front of the judge’s panel. Judges call dancers to perform in groups and each dancer is asked to bring 5 headshots and a resume.

The auditions take place on the last day of Nationals, and the winners receive a round trip ticket to Los Angeles, CA and a scholarship to Millennium Dance Complex. This dance complex is known worldwide as the premium studio of commercial dance. The faculty there has trained celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Usher, P. Diddy, and Pink. This award package also includes a headshot photo shoot and a consultation with one of LA’s top talent agencies. Talk about an award worth fighting for!
